The Imbali Sanitary towels project started when we discovered that young girls in poverty-stricken areas were missing out on education opportunities due to the lack of access to affordable sanitary products. We recognized this critical issue and set out to address it. We developed an innovative solution: providing free sanitary towels for these underprivileged girls. 

WHAT WE DO

Access to reusable sanitary towels not only enables girls to attend school as expected but also has a profound impact on their overall health and well-being. Menstruation is a natural bodily process experienced by millions of girls worldwide, yet the lack of access to proper sanitary products creates numerous challenges. Reusable sanitary towels are a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative that allows girls to manage their periods with dignity. By providing a reliable and sustainable solution, these towels eliminate the need for makeshift or unsanitary materials such as rags or leaves. Moreover, they prevent potential infections that may arise from unhygienic practices. Ultimately, ensuring access to reusable sanitary towels empowers girls by enabling them to actively participate in educational activities without fear of embarrassment or discomfort related to menstruation, promoting gender equality and contributing to their overall development and success. 

We provide each girl with an Imbali Dignity Bucket that gives them access to reusable sanitary towels for 2 years.
